POLICE yesterday rushed to the home of hate  preacher Anjem Choudary — to  protect him and his family.

Officers helped them flee their home and go into hiding amid fears they could  be attacked by a mob seeking vengeance for the murder of soldier Lee Rigby.

Choudary’s wife and children were driven away under police escort to a secret  address, while officers were left to guard the house.

There was no sign of Choudary himself, and a neighbour said he had been seen  slipping out early yesterday morning.

The operation in East London began just after 2pm, when two male officers  took  up position yards from Choudary’s front door. An hour later they were  joined  by two female officers in a van.

Officers spent 40 minutes going in and out of the house before an unmarked  car  arrived.

Eventually two women — one of them believed to be Choudary’s wife — emerged  from the house carrying bags and cots. They walked three kids to the car  before being driven off. Minutes later one of them returned for more  luggage,  indicating they could away for some time.

Police refused to reveal details of the carefully planned operation. It is  believed the move was made following threats to Choudary.

A group calling itself Britain First posted a ranting video online, saying  police had until 6pm yesterday to arrest Choudary — or they would seize him  themselves. *

The group claimed to know Choudary’s address. A security source familiar with  the operation said: “The police have gone there to maintain public order and  protect the family. The officers will probably be there for the night and  then  be gone.”

Guarding the house around the clock would cost the Met £10,000 a week.

Choudary has boasted of radicalising young Muslims including killer Michael  Adebolajo, 28, and police have been urged to investigate him for inciting  hatred — and to see if he had anything to with the murder of Lee, 25.

The Sun revealed yesterday that MI5 was investigating Choudary’s links to the  killers. But the dad of four — who rakes in £25,000 a year in benefits —   issued a public denial insisting he had not been in contact with Adebolajo  since “before 2007”. He said: “Let them investigate, they won’t find  anything.”

Police probing Lee’s murder in Woolwich, South East London, have issued a  fresh appeal for information — and asked anyone who took video or photos of  the attack to send them the images.

An inquest will be opened at Southwark Crown Court tomorrow.

Yesterday Muslim convert Hayden Allen, 21 — bailed after being arrested three  days after Lee’s murder — denied any involvement in the “atrocity”.

Meanwhile, internet activists have posted the personal details of English  Defence League members after the far-right group staged an anti-Muslim march  in the wake of Lee’s murder.

A group calling itself Anonymous UK condemned the EDL for using the killing   “as an excuse to spread a campaign of hate, bigotry and misinformation”.

Sharia Creep in America must be stopped. Violence from Islamic extremists occurs with regularity in Europe. Groups like CAIR must be recognized for what they are: Disciples of Lucifer.
